Happy Halloween nail art!
Happy Halloween my dear sweet friends!!! I hope you all have a haunting celebration that gives you shivers and please be careful :)
The base for this design is SuperChic Lacquer Deadpool and I painted the design with acrylic paint. I really didn't think an evil castle could be shrunk down to the size of a small pea... but apparently there's no limit to what black magic can do!
I received SuperChic Lacquer Deadpool as a press sample. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.

Slimey snot nail art
Yeah that'll teach me to pick my nose XD Happy almost-Halloween!
I had SO much fun making these! Really all it is is clear 3D sculpting gel that I added some polish to. The yellow is Parrot Polish Banana Sorbet and the green is Dance Legend Levitan that I bought from Hypnotic Polish. I think the pastel neon yellow of Banana Sorbet really makes it look like snot!
And like good radioactive mucous, it lights up under a black light!

Monster from the wall nail art
What's that behind you? In the wall? How did the lights suddenly go out...
I laid a grey base with acrylic paint and added some Serum No. 5 Budding Lights for the glow. I used that same grey acrylic paint to add the monster, thus making it show up in the dark but it falls away against the background in the light!
I'm not even sorry about posting two designs in one day. I just got so wrapped up in making Halloween designs that I have too many!! Score for you!!!
Trypophobia nails for Halloween
Yeeeech! I think something burrowed its way into my nails & laid eggs! This is HORRIBLE!!!
I think it may be visible that I wasn't really feeling these... I tried different ways of making the trypophobia feeling come true and landed on a mix of fake nails with air drying clay, that I drilled holes into.
I found some tiny beads that fit right into the holes, like insect-y eggs.

Lurking shadow nail art for Halloween
If you ever have the feeling someone is walking behind you... don't look. RUN!
I used Parrot Polish Georgia Forest as a base. It's a thermal, so when the polish is cold, it's a dark dusty grey and the shadows aren't visible (or as invisible as possible when working with a holo polish & plain acrylic paint). When it warms up, the shadows pop out!
The pinky & index nails are painted with SuperChic Lacquer Mink. It's one of my favorites but has been discontinued for a while now. The design was painted with acrylic paint, I tried to mix up the grey as closely as I could get to the color of the cold-state polish!

Realistic spider nail art for Halloween
Thin, crawly legs sticking out to all sides. Eight eyes staring at you, watching your every move. How can anyone be afraid of spiders? :-p
The gorgeous background polish is Holographic Kiss by Masura. I received this, plus nine others, as press samples to share with you. Holographic Kiss is one of my favorites and immediately caught my eye. So pretty and feminine!
The spider is painted with new black & white acrylic paint that I bought two weeks ago from NailProduct.nl. They are AMAZING, very smooth and they make painting tiny lines so much easier! The black is really watery (actually exactly like water, but annoyingly opaque) and it smears with my top coat, but I think I bought the wrong bottle. It's hard to tell from a website. I'll place another order and let you know!
I've wanted to paint a spider with its legs spreading out to other nails since... I don't know when. I didn't 'see' the design in my head yet though, and I need to visualize it in order to paint it. This wasn't so much planned as it just suddenly took shape, and quite well might I add!
I received Masura Holographic Kiss as a press sample. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.

Dug up bones nail art for Halloween
Be careful digging in your backyard this fall season... you never know what you might find!
Heehee I had been stewing on this nail art design for a while now! It's a base of acrylic paint, the grass is made with flocking powder and the bones.... are REAL! Nahh just kidding, they're made with 3D sculpting gel.
It took a lot of different steps and some logic for the order of the steps, but none of it was hard or really very time consuming :)

Jack Skellington nail art for Halloween
I didn't think I'd ever paint Jack Skellington nail art but his amazed, sensitive side seemed to call to me. I've always wanted to try painting in black & white. Turns out it's fun!
The best thing is, the whole design is done with only TWO bottles of paint: black aaaaand white! And ofcourse I used my awesome Mitty Peachy 000 detail brush.
I painted on a base of Picture Polish Bright White. The other nails are Picture Polish Black, topped with the OPI matte top coat.

Invisible hangman nail art for Halloween
Who wants to play HANGMAN?? It's game over before you even start!! I love coming up with these 'designs with a twist' that change their meaning in the dark.
I made a gradient using Serum No. 5 Blue Blazes & Glo-balt Blue for the background. The moon is made with white acrylic paint first, to make a base for Serum No. 5 Guiding Lights. The rest is all painted with acrylic paint.
My funniest moment with this design is my mom's reaction. I showed her the light pic and she exclaimed "Awww now THAT is a nice view! See, you can make lovely Halloween art too!" And then I clicked through to the glow pic... Her face!!! I hadn't laughed so hard in weeks!

Killer cards nail art
Oh ouch! I didn't think that cheating while playing cards would get me THIS! I think they might have been demonic cards, but still...
I printed the cards from my computer and cut them out using little scissors. The whole effect is made with liquid latex, some red paint, scar wax (from the party supply store - special effects makeup aisle) and also a bit of top coat for the shiny effect.
This is yummy and yucky at the same time!

Zombie crush nail art for Halloween
Smell that foul odor of rotting flesh? It's your friendly neighborhood zombie crawling out of his hole to eat your brains!!! This freak was a lot of fun to paint... and also freaked me out a little bit :-p
The base is SuperChic Lacquer Zombie Crush and it's delicious!! I painted the zombie with acrylic paint and my Mitty Peachy 000 detail brush.
At first it was just a floating head & arm and it looked... off. I added a little arm to the side of it and some ground underneath, and suddenly it looked like he was dragging himself which was awesomely freaky!
I received SuperChic Lacquer Zombie Crush & Mitty Peachy 000 as a press sample. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.

Afraid of the dark - nail art for Halloween
What's your biggest fear... Spiders? Monsters? Darkness? How about ALL OF THEM!
I painted this scene with acrylic paint and my Mitty Peachy 000 & Candy 00 detail brushes.
To make the glow in the dark eyes, I just added some Serum No. 5 Budding Lights after I finished painting the design. It's really creepy how they glow!
I used to be REALLY afraid of the dark as a kid. I'd especially be scared of anything that might be lurking under my bed, so I'd run up to it and jump on it real quick so nothing could grab my legs. One day I had a really scary dream about something lurking in the closet.... and I haven't been afraid since :-p

Ripped off nails for Halloween
Gyaaaa what have I DONE??? What will I paint on, now that my nails are gone?
Eeech look at that cuticle, is that gross or what :-p It's a good thing it's not real though! I used a fake injury kit I bought last year at a local party supply store. All I had to do was put some wax on the tip of my finger & mould it into shape, give it some color with the bruise wheel that was included, and I used a fake nail to make the shape of the nails/cuticles.
I hope this never happens for real to any of you! Be careful with those nails ladies & gents!

Grim reaper nail art
He's coming for you! Your days are numbered and he will come and drag you down to where the bad people go... where there's lots of polish and junk food and naughty feelings :-p
The gray background polish is Picture Polish LakoDom but just the light grey was too... 'happy'. Too optimistic. The bright flames made it even happier sort of, but then I added some thick smoke and it was like it suddenly came to life!

Ghost party at the graveyard nail art
Oh yeeeeah it's October! That means I'm busting out the Halloween designs, we are going to get LOOSE just like these ghosties over here! Look at them partying, they'll be at it until the break of dawn ;-)
The whole thing is painted with acrylic paint. I love painting landscapes like this, especially with a twist. They're just so relaxing! I watch a good TV show while painting (this one was done during Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and it's really enjoyable! Plus, whenever I look closely at the nail art, I remember which scene I was watching during that part of the design. It's fun!
I added the 'twist' in the way of ghosts with a bit of Serum No. 5 Budding Lights. I don't mind that the flakies from the polish are visible in the light, it just gives the graveyard a slightly supernatural feel :-p
