Aquarelle tree nail art

Do you know that feeling, when you've made something new, and you're not exactly sure if you hate it or like it? It's like that for me with this particular nail art design. I like the little gradient shapes but I don't like the way the tree spreads out over the nails. Click to see more!

I was thinking lately how most of my designs are very precise, I tend to paint clear cut images and I wanted to do something more impressionistic. This idea with little gradient shapes is something I've been walking around with in my head for a while now, I think it came from the Samsung Galaxy S5's lock screen that you see everywhere. I hadn't yet figured out how to put that idea into reality but I think I did it by accident! Hihi!
All it takes is some acrylic paint, and water. I started out with a matte white base (you will really need the matte if you want your paint to stick), After painting the tree with black, or brown, or whatever you prefer, take a small drop of each of your chosen colors, and mix it up with water. You'll want to have a mix that's more water than paint, just thin it out as much as you can without it being just water, and then apply to the shapes! By adding in a darker color and doing two or three coats of it, making each coat smaller, you'll get a gradient effect.

I received Azature Faint White as a press sample for an honest review. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.
