3D galaxy nail art (glow in the dark)
Here's a fun idea! 3D galaxy nail art that also glows in the dark! This is actually not at all inconvenient to wear, it didn't bother me at all (unlike some other 3D nail art designs I've done in the past). The idea came to me last time I was working with my foil gel, it's thicker and it makes nice 3D shapes so why not? Click to see more, plus a video tutorial!
I think I could have used more contrasting glow colors for the planets in the middle. They kind of disappear against the blue glow of the dust clouds/nebula/whatever. Stuff to remember for next time!
The planets are a lot of fun to make and kind of use the same idea as my creepy 3D ghost face nail art. I used Kydu black foil gel to make 3D planets, this is a somewhat thicker gel that comes in a pot instead of a bottle, I apply a little bit of it as a circle, cure it under a UV lamp, and then do another little blob and cure that too. It makes a nice 3D planet shape on the nail that I can then paint any color I want!
I used Picture Polish Black for the base. The background glow is made with Serum No. 5 Indi-glo & Blue Blazes, and Parrot Polish Ocean Blue. I made the stars using white acrylic paint.
I also made a video tutorial, so you can see exactly what I mean! The white stuff I use at the beginning is liquid latex, I got mine at a local costume shop. You'll also see me use rubbing alcohol (Kruidvat, it's a Dutch drugstore brand) to clean off the tacky layer after curing the polish. And right at the end, I use a UV flashlight to charge the glow pigments, this makes it light up extra bright in the dark.

I received Serum No. 5 Day Glow as a press sample for an honest review and Parrot Polish Ocean Blue as a gift from the maker. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.
