Glow in the dark rose window nail art
Heya!!! I've been wanting to do a glow in the dark church window design for a while now but ugh! Too many ideas, not enough nails! Here they are now though, I hope you like them :) Click to see more + a video tutorial!
Use ALLL the neon glow polishes!!! I used Serum No. 5 I Gleam In Pink, Ultra Violet, Indi-Glo, Krypton-Brite, Solar Power, Orange You Sunny & Infrared! I bought most of these from my favorite Dutch stockist Hypnotic Polish, except for Infrared, I got that one for review straight from Serum No. 5 headquarters. I didn't buy it before then because red is not so much my color so I wasn't sure if I needed it, but then Victoria offered to send it to me and it turns out, YES I need it! I think my musical fairies nail art proved that ;-)
It happens to be Victoria's birthday today so I'd love it if you guys could maybe mosey on over to the Serum No. 5 Facebook page and give her some love!
I came up with this technique back in August, I'm calling it the color wipe technique because basically what you do is this:
Pick the polishes you want to use, and put a drop of each on a surface. Let them dry! Then dip your flat brush in polish remover, and wipe across one of the drops, picking up a bit of color as you go. You can then wipe the brush on your nail, using as many strokes and as much polish as desired.
It's really in your hands how you want this to look! For this nail art, I wanted the colored spots to stay small so I used a flat brush and made small strokes.
Let's continue to the next step! Take some black acrylic paint and paint the outlines of your window. Completely fill in the spaces around your window with black, and then you can paint the insides, the small details etc. Make sure not to get too much on your brush or your lines will be too bold, and use a longer brush and let it sweep over the nail naturally to get the best lines. Top coat and you're done!

I received Serum No. 5 Infrared as a press sample for an honest review. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.
