Glow in the dark city skyline nail art

Who needs more glow in the dark nail art? Me, me, me!!! So I've been walking around with this idea for a while now... that's how it goes with most of my nail designs. I get an idea, my head becomes an incubator for the idea to grow in, it gets shape, color, materials, and then finally it gets to be born... onto my nails... okay that's gross :-p But that's how it works! I also have a video tutorial on how to make this design, so click to see more!

The gradient, believe it or not, only uses 5 polishes: Serum No. 5 I Gleam In Pink, Krypton-Brite, Solar Power & Infrared, as well as Parrot Polish Linckia. The gradient-making-process made the between colors, which is how I got 7 colors with only 5 polishes. Plus they glow in the dark like CRAZY!!!

I painted the buildings with black acrylic paint and my Basic One Gold detail brush from Christrio Scotland and I topped it with Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat (I buy this from Hypnotic Polish).
And now... I will... show you how to make this yourself!!! First, apply your base color and let it dry thoroughly. Apply liquid latex around the nail for easy cleanup later (you can also use medical tape or scotch tape).

Time for the gradient! Paint stripes of your chosen colors on the sponge, making them overlap a bit, and gently roll the sponge over your nail to make the gradient. This might take some practice to get a smooth result! When you've achieved a nice look, remove the latex and put top coat on your gradient nails.
This is the best part! Take some black acrylic paint and paint the outlines of your buildings. Just try to envision where they should be placed, and then paint around that! Completely fill in the spaces around your buildings with black, and then you can paint the insides, the windows, small details etc. Make sure not to get too much on your brush or your lines will be too bold, and use a longer brush and let it sweep over the nail naturally to get the best lines. Top coat and you're done!

I received Serum No. 5 Infra Red as a press sample for an honest review. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.
