Hey babes! Happy Thanksgiving to my girls in the US!!! For those of you that don't celebrate (like me), happy random Thursday! I have a mani to cheer you up, and if it doesn't make you smile... well then I'll just have to MAKE you smile! Click to check out more, plus the video tutorial!

This might sound weird, but this is the mani I wore to my grandmother's funeral last week. I'm not one for overly dramatic scenes and I often feel the need to do the complete opposite. I know, I'm strange...

But that's why I wore a happy mani! I asked my mom what I should wear to the funeral, and she said I could wear whatever I wanted. Which is good because my shoelaces are neon pink :-p

I'm glad to say it kinda worked :) My family loved it!

EDIT: One of my dear followers on Instagram actually knew the original artist of this drawing! His name is Philip Dearest and he's on Deviant Art and Instagram (most pics are kinda... adult).

All of this was done with acrylic paint, with OPI Alpine Snow as a white base. I sponged the background using a makeup sponge and acrylic paint, and the details were freehanded using my Basic Gold One detail brush from Christrio Scotland. Aaaand I have a tutorial! Here's how you make this, it's very easy: sponge your background using acrylic paint. Do it carefully like this: put down some paint on a surface and dab your sponge in it. Then dab your sponge a couple of times on a tissue or on paper until there's not a lot left, and THEN sponge your nail. You will get a much more subtle effect that way. I used light lime for the background, and lime green and yellow to make it look more interesting.

There's no good or bad way to paint this. Isn't that great?! You can choose to either do the outline first, like I did, and then color it in. Or you can paint the big blobs of color first (heads, body etc) and then add the outlines and accents. Whichever you prefer is fine, I'd say try it out and pick the one that works best for you!

Put some top coat on it, this can also be a matte top coat if you want, and you're done!
