Green one stroke leaves nail art + video tutorial

Includes press sample

Hey ladies! I made some lovely leaves to celebrate the arrival of fall! Brown and red really aren't my colors, so I chose this great polish called Why Do You Smell So Good? by Jior Couture as my base. This inspired me to do some one stroke leaves because I haven't done one stroke in what seems like forever! Click to see more!

This polish has an amazing citrus scent, like candy but less sickeningly sweet. If you want to know more, check out my review of the As Your (Indie) Maker, I Command You collection.

The scent make me think of lemon leaves, although they don't have any white in them. They were easy enough to make but man! I have to practice my one stroke technique more often! I messed up a couple of times while painting the leaves, and the outlines too by the way... But I'll show you how to make them, just check out the video tutorial below!
Apply your base color and let it dry thoroughly. All you need for the leaves is a flat brush (I got mine from eBay), acrylic paint in two colors and a detail brush. You dip the corner of the flat brush into one color, and the other corner into the other. Swipe it along a piece of paper several times to make the gradient, and then you can paint your petals. It takes some practice but then it's not so hard! If you need more instructions, check out my tutorial for one stroke basics.

To finish, outline the leaves with a bit of white acrylic paint and your detail brush (I used my Basic One Gold Detail Brush from Christrio Scotland. Also paint some veins in the middle, top coat and you're done!
