Creature lurking from a dark hole, Halloween nail art!

Ooooh who's getting in the mood for Halloween?? I'm really enjoying all of my creepy designs lately, I hope you are too! I have another one right here, it's a pair of creepy eyes looking at you from a dark hole in the wood. The eyes glow in the dark!

I used Picture Polish Malt Teaser for the brown base, it's a great color to use for wood. I got this polish from my dear friend Jody, GAHHH I could just kiss her! And the eyes glow in the dark! I painted them using Serum No. 5 Day Glow & Orange You Sunny for the eyes, to make them extra creepy.

This nail art didn't turn out exactly like I wanted it to, but I have to say I kind of like this wood look. It's really easy to make and it will never look exactly the same!
Here's how to make these, step by step:
Apply your base color and let it dry thoroughly. Start painting some lines in different shades of brown, some light ones and some darker ones. They don't even have to be really straight or neat. When that's done, apply some dots of a dark brown to make the knots in the wood. Now take a medium brown and a black and paint some stripes around the knots (see video). Don't overdo it, just a few stripes with the bend around the knot will do.

A longer brush will help you make these lines perfectly. I'm using the Basic One Gold Detail Brush from Christrio Scotland.

To finish the wood look, take your medium brown, wipe some of it off the brush so you don't have a thick blob at the end of your bristles, and go over all the lines that stand out too much. You'll get a nice wood look with different shades.

If you want to have a creature lurking from a hole in the wood, take your black paint, and make a square. Paint small lines into the wood, away from the square, this will make it look like loose planks. Then paint your eyes, you can use a glow polish for this like I did, very scary! Put some top coat on it and you're done!

I received Serum No. 5 Day Glow (used in the eyes) as a press sample for an honest review. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.
