Rainbow butterfly accent nail + video tutorial
Hey ladies! I was kind of short on time but I wanted to bring you something anyways, so I made this rainbow butterfly that I've had in my head for a while. I used Parrot Polish Aeon Flux for these beautiful black holographic nails and Serum No. 5 for the glow in the dark gradient. I also made a video tutorial so come see!
For the gradient, ofcourse I grabbed my glow in the dark neon polishes from Serum No. 5. What else :-p I used I Gleam In Pink, Orange You Sunny, Solar Power, Krypton-Brite, Indi-Glo & Ultra Violet. I painted the butterfly using black acrylic paint and my brush from Christrio Scotland. The top coat I'm using is HK Girl top coat from Glisten&Glow.
Ooooh I really love this glow in the dark effect! You can clearly see the butterfly, so gorgeous <3
I have a video tutorial down here *points to the end of the blog post* but I'll also describe it to you in detail. First, apply your black polish on all of your nails and a white base color on your accent nail and let it dry thoroughly. Tape off your cuticles to minimize cleanup afterwards, I use scotch tape and medical tape (it's nice and pliable).
Time for the gradient! Paint stripes of your chosen colors on the sponge, making them overlap a bit, and gently roll the sponge over your nail to make the gradient. This might take some practice to get a smooth result! When you've achieved a nice look, remove the tape and put top coat on your gradient nails.
Take some white acrylic paint and paint your butterfly using acrylic paint. Start with the outline and then fill in the space around it. Make some lines inside the wings and let everything dry. Top coat and you're done!

I received Parrot Polish Aeon Flux as a press sample for an honest review. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.
