Lightning glow in the dark nail art featuring Serum No. 5 (with video tutorial!)
Whooaa hello and sorry for my disappearing act! I'm back today with some awesome-sauce nail art using Serum No. 5 nail polishes... AND a video tutorial, so you can learn how to do this lightning nail art design! I just really love glow in the dark nail polish :D Click to see more!
This just looks AWESOME in the dark, oh man, I love this!!! I used Picture Polish Black for the base color. The lightning was made using Serum No. 5 Blue Blazes and Pure Glow Getter. This is one of the few designs I do that I used only nail polish for. RESPECT for the artists who only ever use polish, because it's so hard to draw fine lines! But I had to get over this if I wanted my lightning bolts to glow, so I put a drop of polish on my palette, added a drop of thinner and mixed. This makes it a little bit easier.
Also, this was my first time using nail polish for one stroke nail art. It's a lot harder, because the polish dries too fast on your brush, so you can't get the super neat result like when you use acrylic paint. But for this design, that wasn't a problem!
I used:
- Picture Polish Black
- Serum No. 5 Blue Blazes
- Serum No. 5 Pure Glow Getter
- Flat brush from eBay
- Pure Color Glamour #1
Use a black polish and a light blue (glow in the dark) polish to make a one stroke design from the cuticle to the tip of the nail. Then paint a lightning bolt in the same direction, on top of your one stroke 'ribbon', using a blue (glow in the dark) polish, and when that's dry, go over it again with a white (glow in the dark) polish but try to make thinner lines. Top coat when it's dry, and you're done!
