Paws by Eddie polishes from Defiance!
Hello and good day, my fellow nail polish addicts! I am SO excited to show you these polishes today! I received these pretties for review from a new Dutch indie brand, called Paws By Eddie. Don't you just LOVE it when you discover new brands?? :D Click to see more!
Look at these bottles, aren't those kitties the cutest?! They have a heart of the polish the accompany, and the charms aren't annoying at all. You can just slide them down onto the bottle neck, so you can use the cap without restriction. Very nice!
Paws by Eddie is cruelty free and big 5-free! Also, most of the polishes are inspired by TV shows, which suits me perfectly. I am an absolute TV junkie! Haha! Both of the polishes I'm showing you today are inspired by the TV show Defiance.
The Defiant Few
Based on the people who stood up to their superiors and banded together to end the battle and save humans and votans. The Defiant Few represents just that, a light in the darkness. Because oh my freaking GAWD, it's a glow in the dark polish!
It dries matte and slightly rough. Only slightly though, it doesn't even come close to a textured polish. It's also holographic in a subtle way. It's just subtle enough to give it a sort of 'special gleam' that you can't quite figure out, but it's there for sure.
I did have some application issues with this polish. While applying the first coat, the polish was very thick. It wasn't pleasant to work with. But, me being the inventive chick, I figured some nail polish thinner might work. Et voilá! It worked absolutely amazing and the polish was back to perfect consistency with only a few drops of thinner! I used two coats.
Please, please, don't EVER try to thin your polish with nail polish remover. This might work for one use but it will damage your polish badly in the long run. You don't want to torture your beautiful indie polishes like that!
Ermahgerd it's glow in the dark! You guys know how much I LOVE glow in the dark, right? This one is just splendid! It glows blue and green together, making a super cool speckled effect. I love that!
The NeedWant
This polish is named after the local bar in Defiance, which is also a brothel. Hahaha! It's a scandalous polish! And beautiful nonetheless, I tried to get the photos as color accurate as possible but this color might be a little bit darker than pictured here.
It has these amazing flecks in the mix, they really stand out when the light is reflected from the nail. I also tried a matte top coat over this polish but that didn't make the flecks more visible, it only dulled the color. I like it much more when it's shiny :D
Application was NOT a problem with this polish! It's just so smooth, easy to apply and fast to dry.
Like what you've seen here? Ha, I can't blame ya! Be sure to check out the Paws by Eddie shop and also take a gander at her Facebook and her Instagram!
A huge thanks to Fabiënne for supplying me with these polishes! I absolutely loved swatching them for you, I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did working with your beauties!
I received both of these Paws By Eddie polishes in this article as a press sample for an honest review. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.
