Mani swap: neon chevron nails
Hello on this beautiful Wednesday! I did a mani swap with a lady with gorgeous nails, the lovely and talented @reireishnailart on Instagram! She picked one of my manis to recreate and I picked one of hers, and I think it turned out ah-mazing. Click to see what we made!
We swapped! This was such a cool experience for me!!! I LOVE that we both picked a design with a nail charm, without knowing it. Don't you think her recreation of my jeans nails is just stunning? She also made the cool collage!
If you're on Instagram, be sure to stop by my profile! I'm @narmai :D
So this is how mine turned out, and I'm not sure if I like it... I love the overall design but I ran into some problems. I don't have a decent neon orange, so I had to use China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy. It's a gorgeous color, but it makes my camera flip out and it doesn't have a lot of contrast with China Glaze You Drive Me Coconuts, the pink color I used. And then it got really crappy when my Ulta3 Blue Marlin turned out to be less opaque than I had thought... so I kept having to sponge on more and more, and the gradient looks wonky.
Also, I don't have chevron nail vinyls so I had to paint the chevrons by hand. I think they turned out pretty well for hand painted lines!
Don't you just love how tropical this looks? Don't forget to give Reina some love on her Instagram!
I received the pineapple nail charm as a press sample to make nail art with. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.
