Yellow butterfly wings that glow in the dark

Hi girls! I know what you're thinking: YAAAAY another blog post! I'm extra happy today because tomorrow is my BIRTHDAY!!! I'm doing a special birthday mani later but first I have some other prettiness to share with you.

A while ago, I bought the Nailz Craze NC01 & NC02 stamping plates, but I never got around to using the NC01. I was waiting for the perfect nail length, and so here it is! Turns out my nails were actually just a little bit too long, I should have switched over to the larger butterfly images that are also on this plate, but I stamped with the small ones instead *stupidstupidstupid* This was easily corrected though, as I'm handy with a brush and some polish and I retouched the part that didn't quite reach my cuticles.

Little monsters on my nails

Hi girls! Do you like googly eyes? I used to stick those on everything when I was in school! Now I made some nail art with them, check it out!

I hand painted the mouths and teeth with a small brush. I do all my art work with polish, not acrylic paint, but it's harder to work with and causes some streaking every now and again.

I also used some flocking powder on my accent nail to make the monster look all fuzzy. Isn't he a cutie? The fuzz came off quickly and there were only a few patches of purple left after a couple of hours. The eyes didn't have a topcoat over them, just a tiny dot of polish to glue them to the nail, but I must say they stayed on pretty well!

Tutorial time! How to make a nail polish case

Hi girls! I've had so many questions about my nail polish case and its many updates, I've decided to do a tutorial! Some people asked me where to buy it, but that's the thing, I made it myself. I had an old aluminum suitcase laying around that used to be my grandpa's. He used it to transport CD's but he passed away a couple of years ago, so it felt like a tribute to my grandpa to re-purpose it. I also made this nail art supply case.

What you'll need:
- A suitcase
- Soft foam
- Any kind of fabric
- Elastic bands
- Head pins

You'll also need a craft knife, something to protect your work space, a pair of scissors, glue and a set of crafty hands.

Okay, let's get to work!

Four shiny beauties from Daphine Polish (review)

Hello and welcome to my post of pure awesomeness! I've got four amazing Daphine polishes for you that I received for review. Daphine Polish is a pretty new indie brand based in Ridgewood, NY. For now, she only ships within the US but she's looking in to the possibility of selling internationally. I think that would be great!
Edit 8/24: Joanne is starting to ship internationally on a trial basis! Be sure to read her shop policy first and have fun shopping!

Joanne was so kind to ask me what kind of polishes I prefer, so she could send me something I'd like. After all, a happy reviewer is a good reviewer. And goshdarnit, I'm happy as a clam! Okay, so let's just dive in!

Sunflower nail art

Hi girls! I have something very pretty for you today! I love to do freehand nail art but I don't have a lot of time and energy to make something more elaborate. For this one, I really sat down and took the time to make something of it, and I think it turned out great! I hope you agree!

Sunflowers always make me think of August. I actually made this design a week ago, to celebrate the first week of August (and it only being one month until my birthday!).

I'm very proud of how this design turned out! The blue sky in particular turned out very well. This design was inspired by a photo I found on the internet...

This one! My colors aren't nearly as bright (I only own about two yellow polishes) but I think I got the idea of a whole field of sunflowers come across pretty well. I really loved every second of painting this, I want to do stuff like this more often. It gives me the real 'artsy' vibe, you know? Especially now that I made my own polish space! I'll try to show you guys pics of it soon!

Hibiscus nail art using the one stroke technique

Hi girls! I'm really impressed with nail artists who have the one stroke technique down cold. I've been wanting to try it for a while now, I even bought the right brushes, but I couldn't bring up the nerve to try it. I got inspired by an untried mini I have in my collection, called Tropical Dreams by Whooz Polish. This is my first attempt at the one stroke technique so don't be too hard on me!

Tropical Dreams is a really translucent baby blue polish. At first glance it looks like it has matte white-silverish glitter but it's actually way cooler! It has a bit of green, pink, purple and blue, all really sheer colors, which gives it a unique look. This is also how I chose the colors for my flower.

This is two coats of Tropical Dreams over Zoya Rocky. It's the perfect color match, and it fits this unnaturally hot weather we've been having. I swear, it's just too hot! Dutch people aren't used to this, we're white-asses!

Holo waves nail art

Hi girls! I've been really getting back into the 'better' nail art lately. I didn't do my nails often when I was sick, and when I did, it was mostly a coat of color and some glitter, that was all I could manage. I've been wanting to get into posting regularly, although the warm weather is keeping me outside and away from my computer. My nail art is getting so much better! That's a great motivator for me.

Sunny summer weather calls for holos, so I went all out and used three of them. Here you have Glitter Gal Marine Blue, Lilypad Lacquer Zombee and A England St George.

Don't you just love how super crisp those lines are? I must say I'm really impressed with this nail art! It's a new technique I've been practicing with, I learned it from an amazing nail artist on Instagram.
Here's a sun pic, but I don't like the look of this photo as much as the one I took in the light box. I did want to show you the beautiful reflection of the light, I SWEAR I don't ever photoshop my images! This is all real, baby! I like the look of real, actual fingers, not the ones that are photoshopped so they look like creepy mannequin fingers.

Lilypad Lacquer Zombee is a good dupe for Different Dimension Totally by the way, swatches HERE. The only difference is that Zombee is a linear holo (which I prefer) and Totally is a scattered holo (still very nice though!).
